Clinical Support Specialist

Serve as the primary support contact for Illumina clinical partners and customers in their territory, and develop and implement the service and support strategy for those clinical partners and their customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Illumina clinical partners to develop and implement the support strategy for our clinical partners and their customers.
  • Prepare regular reports on their instrument status and outstanding issues.
  • Provide technical service and support for the clinical trial sites.
  • Provide field technical support including instrument installation, instrument and application validation, and customer training and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Coordinate the general field team to handle additional support duties when required.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with partners and customers in assigned territory.
  • Help maintain and increase product usage, and support the sales effort through technical presentations and demonstrations.
  • Providing strategic and competitive customer feedback to Marketing and product development teams.
  • Identify and help develop key company processes that support our mission of building a world-class customer support organization.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial experience supporting clinical labs required.
  • Prior field experience supporting customers using next generation DNA sequencing and sample/library preparation protocols preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of commonly-used sequencing data analysis software applications preferred.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication as well as training skills.
  • Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Preferred Experience/Education:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
