We're looking for a Managing Director to join our Institutional Sales team at Principal Asset Management where you will play a pivotal role in fostering inclusive partnerships and drive sustainable growth. Reporting to Amanda Wilson, Managing Director, Head of Distribution US & Canada Institutional and Global Consultant Relations, the Managing Director, Institutional Sales will be responsible for business development efforts in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, primarily focused on institutional investors with $5B+ in investable assets.
Engage proactively: Forge meaningful relationships with large institutional asset owners, including public and corporate plans, endowments, foundations and health systems. You'll champion our wide range of traditional and alternative investment products and solutions, adeptly addressing clients' investment challenges to drive business growth.
Strategic marketing initiatives: Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to cultivate and fortify relationships with both prospective and existing clients through internal relationships with Consultant Relations, Product, Marketing, Relationship Management, Client Service, and Investment team members.
Product innovation: Contribute to the evolution of our product offerings by actively participating in their development and design, ensuring alignment with client needs and market trends.
Goal achievement: Meet or exceed goals for growth in assets under management and corresponding revenues, expanding current client relationships and new clients obtained.

Salary Range Information:
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly): $205000 - $277000 / year
Time Off Program:
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Location(s): We're open to considering remote or hybrid talent. Locations for hybrid talent are Des Moines, Chicago, Denver, New York City, Charlotte, or Seattle. Preference is to live in the territory. You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
