Promotes and sells Engineered Valve Industrial Products through distributors, representatives, OEM's, instrument companies, and direct. Manages sales territory, trains distribution and handles quotes in order to maximize product sales. Able to consistently meet sales quotas in accordance with budgeted sales goals. Develops and shares an area of specialized sales expertise.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.
Uses persuasion, logic and product expertise to promote and sell the various valves to end users, A&E accounts, distributors and representatives.
Maintains an up-to-date territory plan and works accordingly.
Performs specification work.
Conducts product information seminars for end users, A&E accounts, distributors and representatives. Assists distributors and representatives' sales personnel in making sales calls and securing orders for Engineered Valves.
Maintains up-to-date distributor/representative sales action plans and monitors progress towards goals.
Assists distributors and representatives in maintaining inventory levels consistent with company inventory policies.
Evaluates and make recommendations for establishing or terminating distributors and representatives.
Update and maintain Electronic Quote Log (EQL) system.
Make sales calls to customers (average 3 – 4 days per week)
Develops, hones and trains others in area(s) of specialized sales expertise. May be asked to train others in individual or group settings; or may be called upon to assist with special company projects which need such skills. Skills are identified and sponsored through Engineered Valves.
Performs administrative paperwork; writes reports and quotations to effectively perform sales function.
Provides regular forecasts of potential sales volumes in assigned territory.
Assists in conducting product and sales training programs.
Provides market and sales trend information to management.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Provides support for new sales representatives as needed.

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business, Marketing, or a technical field is preferred. Three to five years of outside technical sales experience in industrial markets or a related industry is preferred. Channel management, sale of valves or related products or other capital equipment is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to effectively utilize word processing software, spreadsheets and to navigate and use other custom applications software in a MS Windows environment.
