National Account Executive
This role sits at the center of market access strategy for innovative gene therapies, ensuring patients can obtain timely and sustained access to life-changing treatments. You will serve as a key national interface between payer organizations, treatment centers, and internal stakeholders, driving reimbursement strategies and value-based agreements across complex healthcare ecosystems. Working in a highly collaborative, mission-driven environment, you will help remove access barriers and streamline patient pathways across commercial and government payer channels. The role requires a strong blend of strategic payer engagement, contracting expertise, and operational execution in specialty or advanced therapy markets. You will work closely with treatment centers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across the patient journey. This is a high-impact position where your work directly influences access to potentially curative therapies for patients with serious conditions.
Accountabilities:
You will lead payer engagement strategies and access initiatives that ensure reimbursement and availability of gene therapy treatments across multiple payer channels. You will also collaborate closely with treatment centers and internal teams to identify and remove barriers to patient access. Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary regional point of contact for payer and market access matters within assigned territories
- Engaging commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, and other government payers to influence coverage policies and reimbursement pathways
- Negotiating and executing value-based agreements and other contracting models to improve access outcomes
- Partnering with Qualified Treatment Centers to support reimbursement workflows, including prior authorization and appeals processes
- Identifying and resolving access barriers across payer systems and patient treatment pathways
- Collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on market access strategy and patient support initiatives
- Sharing payer insights and field intelligence to continuously improve access strategy and execution
Requirements:
You bring extensive experience in market access, payer strategy, or biopharma account management, ideally within specialty, rare disease, or gene therapy environments. You are highly skilled in navigating complex payer systems and building trusted relationships across healthcare stakeholders. Key qualifications include:
- 10+ years of experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare market access roles
- Strong understanding of the U.S. payer landscape, including commercial payers, PBMs, Medicare, Medicaid, and specialty pharmacy models
- Proven experience engaging hospitals, treatment centers, and integrated delivery networks on reimbursement and access issues
- Demonstrated success in payer contracting, including value-based or outcomes-based agreements
- Strong knowledge of reimbursement processes, including coding, prior authorization, and appeals workflows
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and communication abilities with attention to detail and compliance standards
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
