Sales Representative

This is a field-based sales role focused on driving growth across an assigned territory in the foodservice distribution industry. The Sales Representative is responsible for building strong relationships with both new and existing customers, helping them improve their business performance through tailored product and service solutions. The role combines consultative selling, account management, and market analysis in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. It requires regular travel within the territory and active engagement with restaurant operators, chefs, and foodservice businesses. The position plays a key role in expanding market share while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. It is ideal for a motivated sales professional who thrives in relationship-driven, performance-oriented environments.

Accountabilities

  • Develop new business opportunities while strengthening and expanding relationships with existing customers within the assigned territory.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend tailored product and service solutions to drive business growth and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to understand trends, competitor activity, and pricing conditions.
  • Present product offerings, pricing, availability, and usage guidance to customers in a consultative manner.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, account development, negotiation, and ongoing account management.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment, delivery scheduling, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor account performance, including sales trends, margins, and customer profitability.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, reports, and administrative documentation using CRM and internal tools.
  • Participate in training sessions, company events, and customer engagement activities to strengthen product knowledge and relationships.
  • Support credit and payment processes by coordinating with customers and internal finance teams when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience (3+ years in restaurant management, B2B sales, or outside sales).
  • Experience in foodservice, restaurant operations, or culinary environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers in a consultative sales environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present solutions clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements.
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory (up to 25%) and work flexible hours when needed.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a field-based, performance-driven role.
  • Strong customer focus with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
