The Sales Associate will manage, maintain, and increase sales of all Anderson Erickson Dairy Company product lines to retail stores within their assigned stores as directed by the Retail Sales Lead. The following are fundamental duties that an individual who holds the position must perform. This is not an exhaustive list. Other duties, in addition to essential job functions, will be assigned at the discretion of the Sales Manager.
1. Develop a solid knowledge of AE's philosophy, history, and product lines.
2. Under the direction of the Retail Sales Lead establish sales goals for assigned stores.
3. Proactively monitor sales for assigned stores.
4. Under the direction of the Retail Sales Lead develop a strategy to meet those goals.
5. Increase and maintain sales in existing accounts by communicating with key account personnel, relationship building, and shelf distribution.
6. Submit accurate sales reports to Retail Sales Lead in a timely manner.
7. Other duties as assigned by the Retail Sales Lead.
1. This is a field sales position – you will be required to be in the field daily, calling on stores the vast majority of your time.
2. Relationships are a critical part of our business – you will develop, grow, and partner with key store personnel to optimize our brand at all times.
3. Build displays and reset dairy cases as needed.
4. Identify all AE Dairy growth opportunities within assigned stores from displays, new/approved item placement, and promotional opportunities.
5. Meet and communicate on a weekly basis with Retail Sales Lead regarding progress and strategies in assigned stores.
6. Have a tangible knowledge of how our competition operates and perpetually work to gain market share vs them.
7. Complete weekly sales activity reports in a timely manner.
8. Enhances merchandising and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
9. Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
10. Work and communicate cohesively with intra-departmental teammates including Distribution team.
11. Most importantly – you'll be a perpetual professional and consummate advocate for the AE brand.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Prior food/DSD sales experience to grocery, restaurant, and/or other retail outlets. An emphasis in CPG/Perishables/Dairy gains further consideration.
2. College Degree and 7+ years sales experience. In lieu of College Degree, advanced sales experience will be considered.
3. Great interpersonal communication skills.
4. Strong Taking Care of Business acumen.
5. Self-driven and a positive attitude.
6. Ability to use Microsoft Office programs Excel and Word.
7. Valid driver's license with a clean and safe driving record.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
1. Able to work in refrigerated work area from time to time.
2. Ability to sit, drive, and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
3. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
4. Movement of empty and full cases, within the customer's warehouse to store sales floor/display.
5. Lifting and lowering of cases from customer warehouse to store sales floor/display.
6. Bending, squatting and twisting of the body will occur while moving products on a regular basis.
Note: This is a Sales job, but getting our hands dirty from time to time is part of our business.
