Karbon

A platform providing workstream collaboration tools for accounting firms to manage workflows, communicate with teams, and deliver client work.

Account Executive, Mid Market

Karbon is the global leader in practice management software for growth-minded accounting firms. We provide an award-winning, highly collaborative cloud platform that streamlines work and communication, enabling the average accounting firm using Karbon to save 18.5 hours per week, per employee.

We have customers in 34 countries and have grown into a globally distributed team, with our people based throughout the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. We are well-funded, ranked #1 on G2, have a fantastic team culture built on our values, are growing rapidly, and making a global impact.

We are looking for an exceptional Account Executive to join our AMER team. At a time when the accounting industry is undergoing a profound shift from traditional solutions to our premier cloud-based practice management platform, we are growing in all areas to meet the needs of accounting firms worldwide.

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for researching and managing leads and opportunities, demonstrating how Karbon can improve workflows, communications, capacity planning, and more, to help optimize the operations of accounting firms from 5 to more than 500 employees.

Our Account Executives respond quickly to potential clients, understand their challenges, and customize presentations to show how Karbon will help them maximize opportunities and modernize their firm.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Schedule demonstrations and discovery calls with inbound prospects, ask questions to understand their needs, and turn qualified prospects into satisfied clients.
  • Respond promptly to incoming sales requests and email inquiries.
  • Develop and expand your prospect pipeline through inbound and outbound engagement activities and call campaigns.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates of information and forecasts (call notes/meetings, supporting documentation, next steps, etc.) in Salesforce.
  • Demonstrate how Karbon’s value proposition aligns with client needs.

About You:

Candidates with the following qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply:

  • More than 2 years of internal sales experience, preferably with SaaS products, to small and medium-sized enterprises and a history of exceeding quotas.
  • Experience in outbound sales.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic, driven by results.
  • A friendly and confident individual; eager to learn, able to think quickly, identify solutions to prospect challenges, and convert them into valuable clients for Karbon.

Points bonus if you have:

  • Experience in accounting, taxation, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in a company that sells workflow management, accounting, or project management software.
  • Experience in a scale-up environment.

Why Work at Karbon:

  • Competitive salary with a potential for uncapped monthly bonuses and high performance achievement.
  • Four weeks of annual leave plus five additional “Karbon Days” per year.
  • Generous parental leave and flexible hybrid work arrangements.
  • Opportunity to sell a leading platform, with a highly recognized and valued brand and product.
  • Work with (and learn from) a talented and high-performing team.
  • Be part of a rapidly growing company that strongly believes in promoting high-performing internal talent.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented culture that values diversity, invests in professional development, and offers constant feedback.
  • Additional performance-based incentives, including trips for the President’s Club, as well as Representative of the Month, Quarter, and Year awards.
  • The estimated total compensation (OTE) for this role is $130,000 to $160,000.

Karbon values diversity and inclusion, in line with our company values. Research shows that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single criterion. If you’ve made it this far in the job description but your past experience doesn’t perfectly align, we still encourage you to apply. You could still be the right person for the role!

When we look for talent to join our team, we seek unique, creative, and extraordinary individuals who are in alignment with our values and who can contribute to building a world-class product and company.

Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of what we are and what drives us forward.

We recruit and reward people based on capability and performance. We don’t discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion, physical or cognitive ability, and other diversity dimensions that may hinder inclusion in the organization.

Generally, if you are a good person, we want to talk to you.

If there are any adjustments or accommodations that we can make to assist you during the recruitment process, and your journey at Karbon, contact us at people.support@karbonhq.com for a confidential discussion.
