There are openings in Southeast Missouri, Central Arkansas and West Tennessee. The Sales Agronomist (SA) plays a crucial role in advising key growers as a local expert on Bayer Crop Science products, technology, and new innovations to ensure success throughout the season. As a Sales Agronomist, you are expected to drive business growth by developing new relationships with key growers, identifying their pain points, and providing agronomic-driven advice and insights. Your efforts will help expand Bayer's market share and reinforce its value as a trusted partner.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Sales Agronomist IV, are to:

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive Bayer portfolio business plan with Field Sales Representatives (FSRs) for assigned geography, prioritizing ~100 growers with high growth opportunity;
  • Collaborate with FSRs, Technical Agronomists, and SeedPros to build a comprehensive Bayer business plan and drive market share growth with identified growers;
  • Build relationships with key growers by providing agronomic insights, product selection, and placement recommendations;
  • Deliver squad goals through leading the grower demand generation plan and supporting others' role responsibilities;
  • Provide whole-farm agronomic advice through education, product selection, and placement, staying informed of agricultural research;
  • Drive trials related to Bayer Portfolio with targeted growers;
  • Support key seasonal milestones such as crop planning, responding to in-season product needs, scouting fields, and monitoring harvest results;
  • Lead, coach, and collaborate with FSRs, TAs, and SeedPros on business planning, understanding, and influencing growers' business objectives;
  • Address key grower needs in season, including performance issue resolution and replanting;
  • Strategically recommend innovative ways to enhance business results and connect internally for alignment and support.

Who You Are

  • Ability to coach and mentor teams and quickly grow strategic relationships;
  • Strong task management skills to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Exceptional networking and consultative sales skills to engage customers and build new relationships;
  • Ability to learn and apply agronomic knowledge to promote diverse options fitting customer needs;
  • Position requires driving for the company, potentially under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction, which may involve hauling trailers, products, supplies, or equipment safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant agriculture experience in agronomy, technology, sales, or marketing;
  • Experience with sales teams and teams working remotely.
  • Bachelor's degree in an agriculture-related discipline, business, or an appropriate related field;
  • Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $106,226.40 - $159,339.60. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
