Sales Specialist/Analyst

Core-Mark is seeking a skilled Sales Specialist to join our dynamic sales team. As a Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by providing insightful analysis and strategic recommendations based on sales data. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand market trends, identify opportunities, and optimize sales strategies. Your expertise in data analysis and forecasting will be instrumental in supporting decision-making processes and maximizing revenue generation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses strong communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating vendor promotions for the field sales team and helping lead promotional execution, communication, and planning.
  • Creating, designing, and maintaining ad-hoc reporting for OpCo Sales department.
  • Pulling data from multiple sources, using statistical methods to analyze sales data, ensuring data accuracy, generating findings, and reporting on those insights to team leaders across the OpCo.
  • Analyzing and managing all sales data for the OpCo, as well as running reports, importing and exporting data, and ensuring accuracy across all data platforms.
  • Ensuring data accuracy on all leads, accounts, and orders in Salesforce, and providing suggestions to increase productivity and data accuracy in the platform.
  • Preparing key monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reporting, variance, and trending analyses.
  • Reviewing sales performance reports, identifying and investigating variances.
  • Identifying gaps to the plan by sales ledger and commodity.
  • Evaluating current processes and making recommendations for future state and continuous improvement.
  • Providing light technical support and device management for new and existing sales associates.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills or attributes:

  • Creative and analytical approach to solving problems with little direction.
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, and sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organization skills and demonstrated proficiency in handling multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present data to senior leaders and external audiences.
  • Ability to build share data repositories and maintain timely updates.
  • Ability to solve problems, take direction, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work on new tasks independently.
  • Support Sales Initiatives (new customer onboarding and product launches).
  • Pricing support and customer agreement schedule management.

Required qualifications include 1-3 years of relevant sales and/or financial analysis experience, required advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with an ability to manipulate raw data through formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, etc. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Power Point, including mail merges and formatting.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or related discipline, medium to large-size company experience, advanced Excel Certification, knowledge or ordering ERP's – EDI Platform, knowledge of Power BI, experience with AS400 a plus & Or DCM.
