Area Director of Sales – Hospitality
Western States Lodging & Management is seeking a dynamic and strategic Area Director of Sales to drive revenue growth and sales performance across a portfolio of hotels in the Ogden, Utah area. This leadership position is ideal for an experienced hospitality sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring teams, and is passionate about maximizing revenue through proactive, hands-on management.
The Area Director of Sales (ADOS) will provide direct sales support, implement strategic plans, and ensure alignment with corporate objectives and Western States' Personal Touch sales culture.
Revenue Generation
- Direct and oversee group, transient, and catering sales efforts across the hotel portfolio to maximize total revenue.
- Utilize revenue management systems to analyze data, identify trends, and improve profitability.
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to increase occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR.
- Build and execute annual business plans, including sales, marketing, and advertising strategies, aligned with revenue goals and ownership expectations.
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, train, and mentor property-level sales teams to enhance sales performance.
- Conduct regular market and competitor analyses to identify new revenue opportunities.
Performance Management
- Track and report sales activity, productivity, and goal attainment across assigned hotels.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and recommend data-driven action plans.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership, highlighting results and areas for improvement.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner closely with General Managers and property teams to align sales efforts with operational goals.
- Act as a liaison between corporate and property-level leadership, ensuring consistent strategy execution.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts to drive repeat business and guest loyalty.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 4+ years of progressive hospitality sales experience with a proven record of driving revenue growth.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple properties and teams simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in sales forecasting, market analysis, and revenue management systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned area.
