Appointment Setter/Sales Development Representative- Freelance, Remote
Our client is a fast-growing, U.S.-based digital marketing and technology provider serving licensed cannabis businesses. They help dispensaries and cannabis brands grow through compliant, data-driven outreach and a modern tech stack. The team is lean, results-focused, and values reliability, professionalism, and process adherence.
The client needs a dependable, process-driven SDR to run compliant prospecting and appointment setting using their cannabis-specific database and outreach tools. This role exists to generate qualified meetings for the sales team, maintain clean CRM data in HubSpot, and free up internal bandwidth—especially for the sales director—by taking ownership of prospect list building, outreach, and scheduling. The goal is a reliable, scalable alternative to past vendors who failed to follow the client's processes and tools.
The Impact You'll Make
Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Build and vet targeted prospect lists using the client's cannabis database
- Enrich and organize lead data; create email lists as needed
- Qualify leads based on ICP and compliance requirements
Multi-channel Outreach and Appointment Setting
- Execute cold outreach via calls, texts, and emails to book demos/meetings
- Follow approved messaging, scripts, and compliance guidelines
- Coordinate scheduling and handoffs for demos with the sales team
CRM and Data Management
- Input, update, and maintain accurate records and activities in HubSpot
- Track outreach touchpoints, outcomes, and next steps for all leads
- Keep lists clean, properly segmented, and compliant
Process Adherence and Reliability
- Use the client's designated tools (prospecting database, HubSpot, Gmail, VoIP)
- Meet daily/weekly activity goals and SLAs reliably and consistently
- Communicate progress and blockers clearly via Slack; follow playbooks and SOPs
Optimization and Scale
- Identify ways to streamline workflows; embrace hybrid AI-human processes
- Share field feedback to improve targeting, messaging, and conversion
- Support evolving needs as the role scales
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required:
- 1+ year in an SDR/Appointment Setter role with proven cold outreach and booking results
- Direct experience in the cannabis industry (B2B dispensary/brand outreach or vendors serving cannabis)
- Hands-on CRM experience, ideally HubSpot (contact management, tasks, logging activities)
- Strong professional communication skills (phone, email, text) and fluent English
- Demonstrated reliability and consistency in meeting outreach activity targets and following defined processes
- WFH Set-Up:
- Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
- Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
- Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam
- Back-up computer and internet connection
- Quiet, dedicated workspace at home

- Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (Eastern Time)
Compensation:
- $5 per hour
