This position is responsible for new business development within the middle market space. This role leads sales initiatives and strategies as well as relationship building with both our external partners and prospects as well internal constituents. The Sales Consultant position requires a deep level of knowledge and understanding of selling to self-insured customers with complex benefit arrangements. In addition, the role requires having experience and excellent presentation skills in meeting with C-suite prospects as well large consultant practices.
Essential functions include achieving sales goals and profitable growth for the organization, positioning and selling multiple lines of coverage, strategizing on proposals to ensure we are meeting the clients objectives and delivering our value proposition, being proactive, organized, responsive, detail oriented and tracking all sales data within the required platforms, developing long term relationships with both internal and external constituents, and continuously meeting with our consultant partners and keeping them informed on new products, updates, and relevant information to their business.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience. Experience includes 8 years sales/healthcare experience in a similar sales position. Knowledge, skills and abilities include the ability to recognize, analyze, and solve for prospects challenges, excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to meet established deadlines for proposals and work closely with internal constituents.
Licenses/certifications required include current health and life license for the jurisdictions of Maryland, DC, and Virginia upon hire required. Salary range is $92,000 - $149,500. This position is expected to travel to see consultants and prospective clients within the DMV area approximately 80% of the time.
