A Day in the Life

The Business Development Sales Representative – Ablation Schweiz is responsible for the development of the Ablation portfolio in Switzerland with a special focus on the growth and market development of the therapy areas Bone Ablation and Soft Tissue Ablation. The role focuses on increasing the perception of therapy, accelerating market adoption, identifying new business opportunities, and building sustainable customer relationships in the Swiss interventional market. The position works closely with physicians, hospitals, internal cross-functional teams, and relevant stakeholders to support strategic business goals and ensure sustainable growth of the therapies.

The position mainly covers the regions of Zurich, Basel, and Lucerne and is conducted as a remote position. Remote means that the home address is considered the primary workplace (home office). For meetings or training, the presence in a Medtronic office may occasionally be required.

Responsibilities include, as follows:

  • Responsibility for the commercial growth and market development of the Ablation portfolio in Switzerland (with a focus on Bone Ablation and Soft Tissue Ablation therapies)
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with medical professionals, clinics, and relevant stakeholders
  • Advising, training, and supporting medical users in clinical practice
  • Developing and implementing strategic growth and account plans in the sales region
  • Analyzing market trends, competitive activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities
  • Organizing and supporting workshops, continuing education, congresses, and medical training events
  • Close collaboration with sales, marketing, clinical, and leadership teams within the DACH organization

Required knowledge & experience:

  • Completed medical education or completed studies in medical technology, medicine, business administration, or comparable qualification with interest in sales
  • First professional experience in the medical field or in medical device sales, business development, or in the field of interventional therapies
  • Good understanding of the Swiss healthcare system and hospital structures
  • Willingness to travel within Switzerland
  • Very good communication and negotiation skills as well as pronounced customer orientation
  • Self-initiative, entrepreneurial mindset, and independent working style in a dynamic environment
  • Fluent German, English, and French
