We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manager, Sales Analytics to lead analytics surrounding agency compensation and incentive programs. This role will also partner with the broader sales analytics team on other sales analytics efforts including, sales planning, territory management, agency analytics, business performance analytics, and multi-rater analytics. This role partners with sales leadership, technical product managers, and product management, to establish a strategy and enhanced analytics offerings around compensation analytics and for sales. This is a hands-on position – prior experience in P&C sales analytics, product management, or related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have a deep and broad understanding of P&C concepts, sales/underwriting, strong analytics acumen, and the ability to partner with a team members across various disciplines – sales leadership, product management, data science, and IT.

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.
Essential Job Functions:
Develop a Consultative Practice & Strategy Supporting Sales Analytics for Mercury
o Working with the Head of Agency Analytics & Enablement to develop the long-term and short term vision and strategy for Sales Analytics at Mercury
o Drives strong data integrity and accuracy across all work efforts
o Develops analytics solutions and delivers business insights/recommendations for a wide variety of sales analytics topics such as, compensation management, sales planning, agency analytics, initiative post-monitoring, territory, and sales performance analytics
o Partners with Head of Agency Compensation to vet and scenario test new compensation models, including standard commissions, bonuses, and incentives; must have experience creating CBA, forecasting, and other scenario testing models for P&C insurance
o Oversee the development of complex models and A/B testing and partner with data science team on configurations of models, interpretation of results, and business recommendations leveraging advanced analytics. Experience with A/B testing is preferred
o Strong data management skills preferred; SQL experience;
o Experience with data visualization packages – PowerBI, Tableau; very comfortable telling the story via data/analytics in a relevant way to the business
Team Partnership
o Partner with sales leadership, sales analytics team, and other internal business partners, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring high productivity and quality standards.
Partner with the sales leadership on thought-leadership for how sales analytics will continue to support and drive sales strategy at Mercury
o Ideal candidate should have a natural curiosity and drive to find analytics solutions to a wide array of sales oriented business topics; takes initiative on finding creative and efficient solutions
o Candidate should provide thought-leadership around business recommendations based of insights learned from the analytics
Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Work closely with business partners (data science, IT, sales leadership, product management, underwriting) to understand and to deliver solutions
Project Management
o Candidate should be comfortable with managing a wide array of projects, short and long term, and with sometimes changing priorities due to business need
o Candidate should be comfortable with regular communication regarding project status and has a high level of accountability
Training
o Provides training to sales teams on how to best leverage agency compensation analytics
o Regular report out of key insights surrounding compensation to senior leadership
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
Preferred: Experience working in a P&C analytics role; experience working with sales/underwriting preferred
Experience:
Minimum: 10+ years' experience in sales analytics, product management, or related P&C insurance analytics
Skills & Abilities:
Minimum: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with P&C analytics and Microsoft Office Suite.
