Sales & Business Development Manager – Automation & Controls
Adecco Permanent Recruitment has partnered with an innovative industrial automation company based in the Greater Grand Rapids area to recruit a Sales & Business Development Manager – Automation & Controls. This is a unique opportunity to join a successful and growing company that has thrived through word-of-mouth and a loyal national customer base. Now, we're looking for a driven sales professional to expand the reach of their LabelWright applicator packages and machine integration & controls services.
Role Highlights:
- Develop new customer relationships across packaging, food & beverage, and warehouse automation sectors.
- Manage full-cycle sales and marketing activities while collaborating closely with engineering and proposal teams.
- Report directly to the executive leadership team.
- Potential for future executive sales leadership.
Compensation:
- Base salary between $75K - $150K, negotiable depending on commission structure preferences (e.g., lower salary/higher commission or vice versa).
- Highly lucrative commission structure aligned with performance.
Location & Travel:
- Hybrid/Remote (training period onsite).
- Open to candidates outside of Michigan (e.g., Chicago-based candidates welcome).
- Travel mostly within Michigan; occasional domestic/international travel required (passport needed).
Who We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of equipment sales experience in packaging, food & beverage, or warehouse automation industries.
- Self-starter with a strong technical aptitude and a customer-first mindset.
- Comfortable with a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Target Markets & Growth Opportunities:
- Expand existing business with major national clients (e.g., Coca-Cola).
- Introduce automation and controls services to new industries.
- Sell high-margin engineering services and integration packages.
- Develop strategic partnerships with equipment and conveyor integrators.
- Help revive and modernize warehouse software platforms (TrueSort, TrueMerge, WCS).
