Customer Service Advocate - (Onsite Only)

Gerber Life Insurance is looking for motivated and service & sales-focused professionals to join our Customer Service team. In this role, you will support existing customers, handle inbound service inquiries, and engage in consultative conversations that lead to identifying and fulfilling life insurance needs. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven call center environment and can confidently demonstrate their success in turning service interactions into sales outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Handle inbound customer service and sales calls, including questions about billing, payments, policy changes, and new applications
  • Engage customers in consultative conversations to understand their needs and recommend Gerber Life products that support their financial protection goals
  • Deliver a positive, professional customer experience while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards
  • Maintain required multi-state licensure (support provided to obtain additional state appointments)
  • Accurately process transactions and document interactions
  • Meet and exceed individual performance metrics aligned with customer satisfaction, quality, and sales goals
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support team and business objectives

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Active Michigan Life & Health Insurance License
  • Must be able to work onsite daily in our Michigan office
  • 1--2 years of customer service experience
  • Call center experience, specifically handling inbound service calls
  • Demonstrated success in selling or offering products during service calls
  • Experience working in a metrics-driven environment (quality, productivity, sales KPIs)
  • Strong communication skills---clear, professional verbal and written abilities
  • Excellent listening, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with computers, data entry, and common office software

Preferred

  • Previous experience in the life insurance industry
  • Additional sales experience outside of insurance sales considered a plus

Work Environment

  • Onsite office setting; must be able to remain seated at a computer for extended periods
  • Frequent verbal communication with customers and team members
  • Requires strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and documentation standards
  • Occasional extended hours during peak periods
