The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an EMD C&I End-User Sales Professional, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving profitable sales for the C&I business in the assigned territory.
  • Developing, implementing, and executing effective territory business plans.
  • Prioritizing your end customers, markets, and distributors to drive effective territory management.
  • Implementing promotions, and directives as set by division management. Collaborating across other C&I territories and within other 3M EMD Divisions to meet customer needs.

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND three (3) years direct sales and/or electrical construction/industrial experience in a private, public, government or military environment. OR
  • Associate's degree (completed and verified prior to start) and five (5) years of electrical industry sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment AND
  • Current, valid driver's license.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Sales experience in the Electric C&I Market.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Aptitude to understand and train customers on multiple product lines and applications.
  • Field/Channel sales experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels.
  • Ability to qualify and prioritize sales opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment or large complex organization.
  • Strong computer skills, Database management: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Salesforce.com.
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong team player, ability to work effectively with peers.

Work location:

Remote: Based on assigned Territory: Idaho, Oregon, Montana & Washington

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
