MUFG is a leading global financial institution seeking a Vice President to focus on Cash Management Sales to join their Hong Kong team, focusing on Japanese corporate clients. As Vice President, you will play a pivotal role in promoting comprehensive cash management solutions to Japanese corporate clients operating in Hong Kong. Your day-to-day activities will involve originating new business opportunities both locally and regionally while managing complex deal cycles from inception through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote cash management solutions including ancillary business, liquidity management, and foreign exchange services to global corporate clients with a focus on Japanese corporates in the Hong Kong market
  • Originate new business opportunities locally and regionally, managing pipelines throughout the entire deal cycle from initial contact through successful closure
  • Develop strong partnerships with Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) and Global Subsidiary Banking (GSB) teams by leveraging solid product knowledge and maintaining a positive, can-do attitude
  • Gain a clear understanding of client product needs by preparing customized pitch books and solution proposals that address specific requirements
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cash products—especially pooling—and take ownership of related tasks such as implementation, restructuring, and ongoing management
  • Manage client transaction banking relationships by liaising with overseas partners and relationship managers, utilizing the organization's extensive global footprint to drive business at an international level
  • Lead responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), coordinating with product development, IT, relationship managers, and other regional partners throughout the RFP cycle
  • Work collaboratively with transaction banking and relationship management partners in other markets or regions to oversee clients' local transaction banking business effectively
  • Drive deposit balances and profitability by monitoring changes in cost of funds and managing liquid deposit interest rates on a monthly basis
  • Collaborate on regional cash forecast reports as required—quarterly, monthly or more frequently—to ensure accurate financial planning
  • Lead deal implementation processes in Hong Kong as well as on a regional basis, monitoring progress closely and escalating issues when necessary

Job Requirements:

  • Degree holder with proven academic credentials relevant to the financial sector
  • Minimum of five years' experience in sales roles within the financial industry—ideally with direct exposure to cash management services for corporate clients
  • Fluency in English is required while proficiency in Japanese plus Cantonese or Mandarin would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated track record of success in sales environments where nurturing long-term client relationships is essential
  • Previous experience in client services or product development involving complex deal implementation such as Host-to-Host connectivity, SWIFT integration, cash pooling arrangements or bespoke liquidity solutions is highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of transaction banking products including liquidity management tools, eChannels platforms, Host-to-Host solutions, virtual accounts systems, eWallet offerings as well as various payment instruments
  • Extensive experience coordinating RFP processes—including clarifying questions from stakeholders, drafting written responses using PowerPoint or Word formats, ensuring timely submission of documents and presenting during beauty parades—is preferred
  • Project management expertise coupled with an ability to foster collaboration across departments internally as well as with external partners is highly valued
  • Clear communication skills enabling effective interaction with both internal colleagues and external clients
  • Strong client management capabilities allowing you to identify needs accurately then articulate suitable product solutions both verbally and in writing across multiple languages
