Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst of Local Ad Sales Finance is responsible for supporting the end-to-end process of the division's sales incentive compensation (SIC) plan that directly impacts roughly 300 employees across our 12 NBC Owned Stations, 31 Telemundo Owned Stations and 4 Regional Sports Networks. Reporting to the Senior Director of Ad Sales Finance, you will partner with sales leadership throughout the country to contribute towards driving positive sales behavior as it pertains to the SIC plan and its direct impact to the overall division's sales strategy. This role provides a unique opportunity to partner with finance, sales and human resources executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • This role will help manage the consolidation and calculation of sales incentive compensation (SIC) on a quarterly basis for the NBC and Telemundo Owned Stations & Regional Sports Networks.
    • Gather revenue estimates from sales leadership to assist in cost pacing
    • Collect individual budgets, assigned to Account Executives, from sales leadership
    • Consolidate amounts from revenue reports to assist in the calculation of SIC for Account Executives and Sales Managers at each station
    • Provide cost dashboards, for each market, to sales leadership and review with them to ensure calculations are accurate or if necessary adjustments need to be made to individual billing
    • Assist in formulating individual comp statements for SIC payouts to sales leadership
    • Prepare and deliver quarterly sales incentive results, by market and individual employee, to review with Senior Sales, Finance, and HR leadership
    • Communicate process and payment timelines along with ensuring accurate payroll submissions for SIC
    • Key participant in development of SIC plan theory, components, and analysis
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly close processes for the Regional Sports Networks by preparing cost allocations, operating expense accruals, and miscellaneous costs reclasses
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and provide controllership with the necessary support
  • Review monthly sales costs and update cost estimates for pacing
  • Oversee the consolidation of pre-quarter and mid-quarter account transfers as submitted by sales leadership
  • Work closely with sales leadership to review historical revenue and formulate growth rates to build quarterly multi-market budgets
  • Manage monthly T&E dashboards and provide guidance on monthly T&E spending trends
  • Assist finance leadership on ad hoc analysis as it pertains to sales costs

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree (B.A., B.S.) at an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of finance experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with accuracy
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Team player with the ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate to achieve goals
  • Access to confidential employee information requires a high level of both personal and professional integrity
  • Prior experience in a finance role supporting an ad sales function is a plus

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
