NBCUniversal is seeking a strategic, results-oriented professional to lead the monetization of non-package content rights—including television, digital, and international rights—for anime, Japanese dramas, and Asian dramas. The titles in scope are those produced or acquired by our production and acquisition teams.
This role plays a critical part in driving revenue beyond traditional media formats by capitalizing on licensing opportunities, optimizing rights management, and expanding the global reach of our content.
The ideal candidate will bring deep industry expertise, a strong track record in sales, and the confidence to develop both domestic and international markets.
Additionally, this position involves maximizing the value of rights managed by NBCUniversal for titles produced or acquired by the anime production division. Key responsibilities include international sales, as well as television program sales and select domestic digital distribution activities.
Maximize revenue from licensed content to meet budget and overall company sales targets.
Plan and execute sales strategies and manage budgets for each title.
Monitor progress against sales targets and action plans.
Prepare sales budgets and handle related operations such as accounting, invoicing, and administration.
Facilitate content usage by domestic and international users through licensees.
Negotiate and approve terms and conditions for licensing deals (domestic and international).
Manage materials related to content development.
Coordinate release schedules across channels, ensuring synergy between promotional units and maximizing sales.
Participate in internal meetings and provide performance analysis and feedback to relevant departments.
Manage launch schedules and quotas by channel.
Plan and execute new licensing initiatives (e.g., merchandising), collaborating with the department to boost sales and organizational strength.
Create business opportunities through performance reviews and database development.
Select and develop partners, and formulate business development strategies.
Continuously improve business processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Promote licensing as an alternative to packaged media by increasing revenue, accelerating collections, and optimizing deal terms.
Expand partnerships and optimize business conditions.
Develop future business leaders by enhancing content expertise, market insight, and strategic foresight.
Encourage participation in industry events and training programs.
Strengthen coaching capabilities.
Support international content expansion by coordinating with OPCO and Group departments, sharing information, and discussing sales strategies.
Report to the UK Content Group and other relevant departments, and participate in meetings.
Ensure compliance with Japanese laws and Universal Group standards in all partner contracts.
Conduct compliance training.

This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
