Sales Development Representative (Fintech/Payments)

We are seeking a Sales Development Representative to join our dynamic Cape Town team. In this role you will play a key part in prospecting new meetings / opportunities for the sales team. Reporting to the SDR Manager, you will benefit from personalized coaching and mentorship, equipping you with the skills needed for professional growth and success in the sales field.

As a Sales Development Representative, you will be a part of a team that will actively reach out to our target market through outbound prospecting, utilizing Salesforce and outbound prospecting tools (ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Event List, and other sources).

A Day in the Life:

  • Conduct high level conversations with senior executives, software developers, payment experts, or other members of a buying committee within prospect accounts, and ask effective questions to qualify prospect needs
  • Create target account lists based on segment, audience, and product alignment
  • Prospect, educate, and qualify new business prospects to create sales-ready opportunities by scheduling meetings for the US based sales team
  • Sort and track prospects by developing, implementing, and maintaining a disciplined daily sales plan
  • Actively manage daily activities to engage new prospects through follow-up communications (phone calls, emails, and sales cadences)
  • Make 100+ calls per day
  • Send 60+ personalized emails per day
  • Achieve a quarterly quota of 60 meetings (5 qualified meetings per week)
  • Follow the established pre-sales guidelines (i.e. utilization of Salesforce CRM)
  • Leverage proven phone techniques
  • Develop customized email cadences to nurture and qualify prospects
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to document prospect interaction, as well as ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Navigator and 3rd Party Lists to develop and manage prospect lists
  • Be a team player and leader!
  • Maintain a depth of product knowledge that enables conversations with other Payment Experts - Operations, Buyers, Residuals, etc,
  • Understanding of the market conditions and competitive products
  • Learn from your teammates, contribute positively, and sharpen the skills of all SDRs
  • Participate in regular sales training and team meetings, share best practices, and continuously improve sales skills
  • Engage with the US Sales and Marketing team to understand the unique nuances of your product specialty - product features, key objections, unique industry issues

Expectations for Success:

  • Successful sales development representative will have strong phone experience in B2B and SaaS technology sales

  • Technical acumen to manage CRM, Calendar tools (Chili Piper), and other sales tools
  • Excellent references (recent and relevant).
