District Sales Manager

Vulcraft of New York, a division of Nucor Corporation, is currently seeking a highly motivated and results-driven District Sales Manager to join our team in the Norristown, PA sales office. This role is pivotal in leading sales and marketing efforts within an assigned territory, building strong customer relationships, and driving strategic growth. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a passion for delivering industry leading service and achieving ambitious revenue and profitability goals. This position requires extensive travel and regular face-to-face interaction with customers. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout their designated territory.

The responsibilities of the District Sales Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the sales team to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Serve as an active member of the divisional leadership team, providing support and contributing to strategic initiatives.
  • Prospect and cultivate new customer relationships to expand market presence.
  • Collaborate closely with Inside Sales and Estimating teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
  • Serve as a forward-facing representative of Vulcraft of New York, developing a deep understanding of customer needs and securing new business.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and Vulcraft operations, ensuring clear communication and exceptional service.
  • Develop and execute annual sales plans in partnership with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Manager.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Support contract quoting processes to secure business opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and adaptability within the organization.
  • Drive change and innovation to enhance workplace processes and effectiveness.
  • Maintain strong organizational and time management skills in a largely autonomous environment.
  • Collaborate across sales regions and departments to support broader business objectives.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in sales, preferably within the steel or construction industry.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region. A valid driver's license is required.
  • Prior experience with reading architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, along with a general understanding of the construction process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
