AWS Account Manager

AWS is seeking a world-class sales professional to manage our global customer and partner relationship with a strategic banking financial services enterprise customer. The Account Manager is responsible for partnering with the customer to build strategic relationships, articulate a clear vision and generate business value. Successful AMs sell to the most strategic level within the account and implement a broad strategy for earning customer acceptance and service implementation. They work with diverse AWS groups to support customer needs. This includes responsibility for downstream sales and technical resources. Developing formal case studies and other forms of references highlighting activity and workloads running on AWS is core to the role.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the AWS customer account team.
  • Identify trusted advisor relationships with key customer contacts.
  • Work with internal AWS teams, as well as external systems integrators and independent software vendors, to support the best business solution for customers.
  • Define a CXO relationship strategy within the customer, coordinating executive business reviews, and maintaining customer satisfaction levels.
  • Exhibit strong leadership presence and command group meetings. Be seen as an authority in communicating via email, phone, and face-to-face. Write executive briefing documents for senior executives at the company.
  • Operate with significant autonomy and discretion. A high degree of decision making is required in routine customer engagement; business judgment is critical.
  • Manage sales pipeline via Salesforce and facilitate stages of a sale.
  • Participate and lead in the negotiation and closing of legal agreements and contracts.
  • Maintain an operating knowledge of AWS's service catalog and relate them to solving customers' business problems.
  • Help define product requirements by understanding and evangelizing the needs of customers. Feedback via product feature requests and the product/service teams.
  • Work with marketing and communications to develop formal references, PR and case studies highlighting impactful customer activity and workloads running on AWS.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field Experience in technology related sales, business development or equivalent Experience increasing technology adoption and creating long-term transformational account strategies or equivalent Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of AWS or technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) Experience (technical or educational) in Engineering or Computer Science Experience as primary account manager of a global federated enterprise working with multiple business units and influencing governance and policy or equivalent Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology projects for global customers Experience selling cloud solutions

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
