Commercial Sales Representative

Torrco is a 4th generation, family-owned leading supplier of plumbing, piping, HVAC, kitchen & bath products for trade, retail and commercial customers. The Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for developing and managing relationships with commercial clients in the plumbing and HVAC industry, including contractors, mechanical companies, property managers, and developers. This role focuses on growing sales, providing expert product knowledge, and delivering exceptional service to drive customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Account Management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with commercial customers, including plumbing and mechanical contractors, builders, and facility managers.
  • Identify opportunities to grow business within existing accounts and pursue new commercial customers.
  • Prepare and present quotes, bids, and project proposals tailored to commercial needs.

Customer Service

  • Serve as a point of contact for order inquiries, pricing, product availability, delivery scheduling, and project coordination.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct regular meetings to understand customer needs and ensure satisfaction.

Product Knowledge & Support

  • Provide technical support and product recommendations for plumbing fixtures, piping, valves, fittings, and other commercial plumbing solutions.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new products, codes, and applications relevant to commercial plumbing systems.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with inside sales, purchasing, warehouse, and delivery teams to ensure seamless service.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors on product sourcing and training.

Sales Goals & Reporting

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and profitability goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotes, and order history in the ERP system.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in similar industry sales, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical estimating, particularly in a wholesale environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with computers, ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Preferred attributes include experience working with plumbing engineers, general contractors, and bid/spec projects. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plumbing plans, or submittals. Familiarity with pricing strategies and margin management.
