Strategic Account Manager – Commercial Fuel Sales
The Strategic Account Manager – Commercial Fuel Sales is an outside sales position accountable for the sale of the company's products and services to commercial fleets requiring bulk petroleum fuel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage assigned fuel accounts
- Contact prospective commercial fueling customers indemnifying their procurement methods, tank capacity and annual volumes,
- Teach the customer how to improve their fuel procurement and operational efficiency through selecting the correct mode of fueling.
- Increase sales in assigned accounts and establish new contract agreements providing transparency to clients and increasing margin for the company
- Develop and nurture strong prospective contacts challenging the customer by delivering insight into their business
- Assist Operations team in communication with client location related to orders, delivery dates and inventory levels
- Understand changes to the petroleum marketplace including regulatory and competitive pressures.
- Answer customer questions, troubleshoot problems regarding products provided and address any customer complaints
- Prepare sales information for customers and identify opportunities for sales process improvement
- Assist with daily fuel pricing determination and communication
- Understand and demonstrate unique values with Diesel Exhaust Fluid, Retail Card Fueling, Lubricants, and Winter Additives in order to establish multiple product lines within an account.

Requirements
Required/Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and 5+ years of experience in sales operations in a related industry
- Experience with managing key customer and vendor relationships and following through on new sales opportunities
- Strong customer focus and ability to balance multiple customer needs
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- High level of written and oral communication skills
- Insight Driven Sales Skills
- 80% of this position is outside the office and will include local travel
Working Environment and Physical Demands
This position operates in a fast-paced, professional environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. While performing duties of this job, you will be regularly required to talk, read, hear, sit, stand, bend as necessary, and use your hands to type.
