Sr. Security Sales Specialist

The Sr. Security Sales Specialist role will report into our Strategic Security Consulting Team. Responsible for driving revenue into large strategic customers and evangelizing Lumen’s Security Strategy. Role will conduct meetings with CISO-level resources to align Lumen’s security portfolio to the customers’ security program. Will lead strategic deals and ecosystem teams on complex projects. Will be involved in social media, speaking engagements, webinars, and podcasts. Will be seen as a leader within Lumen and the Security industry for emerging security technologies and services. Expected to drive revenue and a large funnel based on consultative selling and solution development.

The main responsibilities include supporting the sales teams to ensure they have the right level of engagement and support, interfacing with the product organization to capture customer input on areas of improvement needed to drive greater adoption of Lumen services, utilizing functional use cases across NAO, product, sales, IT, and finance to establish the vision and strategic direction for assigned units, and leading the development and implementation of strategic plans, processes, and organizational initiatives. Maintains collaborative relationships with key departments in the company to align strategies and coordinate tactics cross-functionally within NA Operations. Develops and manages relationships with acquired and/or existing customers to attain additional business and retain existing revenue. Develops action plans to cross-sell and up-sell accounts to increase overall total customer spend with the company. Learns and develops further knowledge of new technologies and selling points which includes enhancing expertise in the company’s entire product suite. Provides comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from new and/or existing accounts.

What we look for in a candidate includes experience in security sales and/or information technology, 10+ years of relevant job experience with similar essential duties, holding industry certifications like CISSP, core, etc. Driver’s license may be required. Must be willing to travel up to 50%. Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities and ability to prioritize with good time management skills. Experience in strategic, technical, and business communications application sales. Strong communication skills and proficiency in selling to the close.

Preferred: MBA or related graduate degree, business/financial background, experience in consultative sales techniques and account planning.

Compensation: This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Location Based Pay Ranges $138,915 - $185,220 in these states: MI.
