Role: The AVP Mortgage Sales – Producing is responsible for overseeing the daily mortgage sales operations across 7 Mortgage, ensuring exceptional service delivery and alignment with strategic growth objectives. This role combines leadership and individual production, driving sales performance while maintaining high standards of member and partner experience. The AVP ensures effective processes are in place, fosters strong relationships with credit union stakeholders, and supports a team of mortgage professionals through coaching, performance management, and operational oversight.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Leads and supports partner mortgage sales activities across 7 Mortgage by developing and executing strategic sales plans, monitoring pipeline performance, and driving efficiency and conversion. Serves as a liaison with partner leadership to ensure alignment with goals, identify growth opportunities, and maintain exceptional service standards. Maintains qualified staff in all positions. Partners with the Business Partnership & Development Manager to deliver exceptional service and support to partners. Leads, coaches, and mentors a team of partner mortgage loan officers and supports the team through regular performance reviews and ongoing development, while actively originating mortgage loans, maintaining a personal pipeline, and delivering exceptional member and partner service to meet individual sales targets. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; reviewing and approving time sheets; coordinating PTO; resolving issues; and supporting employee development through guidance and mentorship, as needed, including formal training.
  • Ensures operational excellence by collaborating with processing, underwriting, and closing teams to deliver a seamless member experience, while maintaining full compliance with internal policies, investor guidelines, and all applicable state and federal regulatory requirements. Analyzes sales metrics and provides actionable insights to senior leadership to support continuous improvement. Ensures procedures are in place and followed to maintain compliance of regulations, including RESPA, Reg Z, ECOA, Reg B, HMDA, NFIP, BSA, Fair Lending Act, Fair Housing Act and Dodd-Frank. Ensures staff is aware of and follows government and secondary market guidelines, such as Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, USDA, Investor, client portfolio and other lender specific guidelines.
  • Manages pipeline and quality control reports to ensure adherence to the established Mortgage Process Flow, regulatory and investor guidelines, and internal compliance standards. Oversees the accuracy and integrity of loan file data within the system used for uploading to the servicer, ensuring consistent quality control and operational reliability.
  • Resolves issues related to the mortgage process in collaboration with partners, credit union staff, and members. Provide hands-on support by working loan files as needed to ensure timely resolution and maintain service standards.
  • Performs other job-related duties or projects as required.

Experience: Five or more years of mortgage experience required. Two years of people management/leadership experience required.

Education: A two-year college degree in Business Administration or Finance, or equivalent combination of education, training, work-related experience, or military experience.

Other skills required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Encompass LOS a plus
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business writing ability
  • Excellent time management skills and accustomed to working with deadlines
  • Strong customer service orientation required.
  • Must possess attention to detail and the ability to perform basic math skills.
