Sales Manager – Industrial Gases/CCUS
Pentair's Sustainable Gas Solutions contribute to this Mission by supplying CO2 Technologies to recover, extract, and generate carbon dioxide (CO2) and biogas upgrading solutions turning biogas waste into revenue streams (biomethane and CO2), helping our clients to lower their carbon and energy footprint, and protecting the environment. Currently we sell and service our products in more than 150 countries around the world in the Food & Beverage, Biogas, and Industrial Gases.
As our Sales Manager for the Industrial Gases/CCUS market line, you will organize, develop, and maintain sales and marketing activities within your region/scope. You will build and maintain strong relationships with customers, key accounts, and Sales Offices throughout the sales process. Collaborating with the Proposal Team, you will provide technical and commercial competitive solutions to our customers and convert these into orders. Additionally, you will analyze and report on market status and development, follow trends, and support strategic planning for market and product development, ensuring alignment with market expectations.
Internally you will work closely with Market Line Manager, Sales Leader, other Sales Managers, Sales Offices, Proposal Team, Product Management, Marketing, Technology, Operations, Project Management, and the Service department. Your external contacts are end-users, OEM's, suppliers, sub-contractors, strategic partners and agents.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the sales AOP (annual operating plan/annual sales plan) for the SGS Industrial Gases/CCUS market line, report monthly, and provide input to develop sales forecasts.
- Manage opportunities in the CRM system (Salesforce) according to guidelines and expectations.
- Collaborate with the Global Sales Process Leader to ensure the sales process is followed within the team and resources are wisely assigned.
- Work with the Market Line Manager/Sales Leader to set strategy for the sales organization and qualify/prioritize leads and opportunities.
- Foster cross-functional cooperation with Technology, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, and ensure teamwork and collaboration during the sales process.
- Achieve the SGS IG/CCUS assigned sales region goals and growth targets.
- Stimulate market demand to maximize turnover and profit.
- Continuously identify potential and opportunities in new markets along with Regional Sales & Service Teams, Marketing, and the Market Line Manager.
- Initiate and follow up on the Technical Sales Review (TSR) and contract review process, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to obtain approvals according to the applicable sales process and Pentair's DOA (Delegation Of Authority).
- Review customer requirements, project/bid/RFQ specifications, and application information to determine the best technology offering.
- Manage the development of project proposals with detailed scope of supply, process guarantees, and pricing to meet bid/tender or customer specifications.
- Cooperate with the Proposal Team SGS and other sales support functions for proposal calculations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to determine delivery times for customers (SIOP: Sales Inventory Operation Planning).
- Travel to meet with regional sales organizations and customers as needed.
- Interact with Sales Managers of other Pentair product categories, including Biogas and Beverages.
- Represent Pentair in industry associations, exhibitions, forums, etc.
Reporting Line and Team:
- Reports to Market Line Manager or Sales Leader IG/CCUS
Authorizations:
- As listed in the Delegation Of Authority (DOA)
Job Requirements & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- You have a Bachelor degree, or equivalent level preferably in a technical or commercial field.
- Experience with Industrial Gases industry and process solutions is a must for this challenging position.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a B2B sales environment – preferable with CAPEX project sales.
- Good organization and negotiation skills, good work ethics, and the ability to be self-motivating are necessary.
- Strong skills in English (both spoken and written). A second language would be a plus.
- You are a communicative team player with international scope.
- You are commercial, creative and solution-oriented.
- You are proactive, energetic and conceptual with a hands-on mindset.
- You are process oriented with business acumen.
- You have got experience with a CRM system (preferably Sales Force).
- Willing to travel case-by-case (approx. 30%).
