Advisor Role

The Advisor role is an essential position on the best-in-class PepsiCo Advisor Team, supporting our merchant partners at Walmart. This Advisor role is on one of the largest and most strategic categories within our portfolio of 22 total Advisorships across Walmart and Sam's Club.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working in a growing, strategic and dynamic category as a trusted advisor and partner with the customer, helping drive assortment and space strategy.
  • Identifying market trends, shopper insights, competitive threats, and customer strategies to increase sales, drive category growth and deliver increased share of market.
  • Leading, enhancing, and growing the fact-based and insight-led relationship with our Merchant partners by being a thought leader and "go-to" resource for all category, shopper and consumer trends, and merchandising solutions.
  • Supporting the modular build process delivering store specific and optimized Modulars to the merchant team.
  • Being a key partner with merchants on assortment and space strategy in the Center store.
  • Leveraging multiple data sources to gain a deep understanding of consumer and shopper behavior.
  • Using shopper-specific granular analytics from multiple data sources across markets, shoppers, and consumers to make business-building recommendations for category growth and refine assortment strategy.
  • Helping drive the discovery and use of customer and market insights to help the customer and PepsiCo increase sales and improve shopper satisfaction.
  • Driving a better understanding of the category and leveraging these learnings to continuously improve assortment and merchandising.
  • Assessing new product introductions, pricing analyses, consumer usage analyses, and understanding the impact of assortment changes on category and brand growth.

Compensation and benefits include:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Category Management experience within the consumer-packaged-goods industry.
  • Previous Walmart or Sam's Club Advisor experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking; ability to link strategies and objectives to develop compelling stories.
  • Strong thought-leadership and influencing skills: ability to influence both internal team members and customer to reach goals.
  • Ability to proactively set and lead an insights agenda.
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and storytelling experience.
  • Working knowledge of syndicated data via IRI and/or Nielsen required. Will work with several data sources in role. Understanding of shopper insights and panel data preferred.
  • Highly proficient with JDA, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and Tableau.
  • Ability to "connect the dots" and bring insights into action.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills at the Executive level. Ability to interact confidently and effectively with team members, management and customer contacts.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong planning/prioritization/organizing skills; the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong capability to leverage influencing skills to gain alignment, agreement, and commitments (internal/external).
