Sales Manager

Outer Seaways (a subsidiary of EMSI, Inc.) is seeking a Sales Manager for business development and operational support as needed for a small freight forwarding/NVOCC business in Center City Philadelphia. This role will report to the company's president. We are looking for an energetic and entrepreneurial candidate to manage existing relationships and develop new accounts. Candidates must have extensive experience in logistics and/or freight forwarding. The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to expand the company's freight forwarding and NVOCC business. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, and achieving revenue and volume targets across all modes of transport—sea, air, and land.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in freight forwarding and NVOCC services.
  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve company goals.
  • Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements within company guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive service and communication.
  • Coordinate with operations, customer service teams, and overseas agents to ensure smooth cargo handling and service delivery.
  • Manage customer accounts, monitor performance, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with management to define pricing strategies and marketing initiatives.
  • Participate in networking events, and industry-related opportunities to promote company services.
