Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Sales Representative to spearhead the growth of our profitable account portfolio. In this role, you will be the face of our company—balancing the pursuit of new business development with the dedicated management of existing accounts. You will leverage technical product knowledge to provide tailored packaging solutions while ensuring seamless service from order to collection.

Core Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Identify, prospect, and close new, high-margin accounts to expand market share.
  • Account Management: Maintain and grow existing client relationships through consistent contact and strategic service.
  • Technical Consultation: Mastery of product specifications, machine capabilities, and costing variables to provide accurate customer solutions.
  • Order Oversight: Follow up on custom specifications for specific orders and ensure all administrative paperwork is processed accurately and on time.
  • Financial Stewardship: Take ownership of the full sales cycle, including following up on past-due collections and assisting in annual sales budget forecasting.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and administrative requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of outside sales experience (or a combination of related experience and college coursework).
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to load/unload product samples from a vehicle and navigate a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the corrugated box or packaging industry.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, specifically in Graphics or Packaging.

Key Competencies

  • Communication: Ability to write professional reports and correspondence; must be able to speak clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Skilled in calculating discounts, margins, proportions, percentages, and volume to ensure profitable deal structures.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to apply common sense and logic to complex instructions, whether they are written, oral, or graphic.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Travel: Frequent driving to customer sites and prospects, including potential exposure to hazardous weather/road conditions.
  • Plant Environment: Regular exposure to manufacturing floor conditions, including loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and humid conditions/airborne particles.
  • Vision: Specific vision abilities required include close/distance vision, color perception, and depth perception for reviewing design proofs and samples.
