Job Summary: The Regional Sales Manager creates, plans, and implements sales strategy, strategic sales, and business development initiatives within the region, in alignment with overall sales strategy. This role achieves sales targets in respect of both budgets and sales efficiency within segment and application domain expertise, while leading and developing a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Targets • Establish sales targets and ensure sales achievement through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed. • Measured by revenue attainment versus budget, sales efficiency, and year-over-year volume growth.
New Market Development • Identify and develop new customer markets in key industries throughout the region. • Gain specification at defined users and OEMs. • Conduct visits to customer facilities to determine current installed product and evaluate potential for alternate replacement with Dodge product via interchange/conversion.
Customer Satisfaction • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with key regional customers. • Participate in developing adequate after-sales service to meet customer needs. • Participate in development and assist in implementation of product support and product training to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Process Development • Participate in budgeting, marketing, and sales process development. • Ensure efficient cooperation and communication with sales staff, internal and external customers, and other functions. • Collaborate, strategize, and formulate yearly business plans with existing and new key customer contacts.
Quality & Risk Management • Responsible for quality and risk management regarding standard agreements. • Develop relationships and network within distributor channels and at end user customer sites within a defined sales geography/territory.
People, Leadership & Development • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed. • Coach, motivate, and develop direct and indirect subordinates in accordance with HR policies. • Drive and ensure the sharing of know-how and cross-collaboration. • Identify and develop talent.
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree, preferably technical in nature, or equivalent/relevant job experience. • 8–10 years of experience in the power transmission industry. • 8–10 years of knowledge of Dodge products. • Outstanding communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, and written). • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a sales team, including coaching, performance management, and talent development. • Experience developing and executing strategic business plans with distributor and end user customers. • Experience in B2B and/or industrial manufacturing sales environments preferred.
Physical Requirements: • Walk distances within customer sites that may have adverse conditions such as extreme heat, humidity, dust, underground areas, or heights. • Must be comfortable in confined spaces and on tall structures, including catwalks. • Must be able to drive for extended periods of time each day. • Travel expectation is high (2–3 overnight travel days per week; 50–60%). • Able to lift and pull up to 50 lbs; must be able to reach, climb, and crawl. • Speak and present in person and virtually to individuals and small groups.
