Technical Sales Representative – Construction Chemicals
Normet is seeking a dynamic, driven and technically skilled Technical Sales Representative – Construction Chemicals to support our growing customer base across Australia. This pivotal role combines account management with hands-on technical support, ensuring our clients receive expert guidance and high-quality service across our product range.
As a key liaison between customers, internal stakeholders, and the sales team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful application, implementation, and high service level to customers, as well as assisting with troubleshooting, training, and product demonstrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for customers (Builders, Contractors, Dealers), including product demonstrations, product portfolios, and implementation guidance.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
- Respond to customer inquiries, providing timely and effective troubleshooting and resolution.
- Act as a liaison between customers and engineering/product development teams to relay feedback and contribute to product improvements.
- Develop sales and marketing strategies and initiate plans to penetrate new markets across all product lines.
- Seek, promote, and sell training opportunities, including product familiarisation and injection equipment.
- Track the increase in revenue from key accounts, indicating successful upselling or cross-selling strategies.
- Track the success of selling additional products or services to existing key accounts.
- Track and maintain the health of the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of potential key accounts.
- Understand the company's position within the market and identify opportunities for growth.
- Identify cross selling and bundled sales opportunities and communicate leads with sales team members.
- Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers of the accounts and industry leaders.
What We're Looking For:
- 2-5 Years experience in technical sales representative or solutions support role with a material supplier in construction industry
- Experience selling similar products within the tunnelling and or civil construction industry
- Experience in sales, marketing and account management
- Strong understanding of material science chemistries
- Knowledge of construction chemical products and equipment delivery systems (pumps)
- Equipment delivery systems (pumps) for various chemical applications
- Ability to interpret structural drawings and site requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, chemistry, construction, or a related field (desirable)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- A self-starter, who's driven, personable and a team player
- Strong organisational and CRM management capabilities
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols
- Flexibility to travel for work intrastate an interstate as required (approximately 30% – 40% of the role)
- Valid Driver's License
- Full working rights in Australia.
The successful candidate must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance before commencement.
