Role Overview

The Sr. Director, Category, Media & Calendar Planning will lead the development and execution of the category strategy, media planning, and national and regional calendar plan for Tim Hortons US. This role plays a pivotal part in driving sales growth, enhancing franchisee profitability, and strengthening the brand's position in the US market. The individual will oversee cross-functional marketing activities, including category management, media allocation, calendar planning, and franchisee communications.

As a key member of the Tim Hortons US team, this role requires a strategic, results-oriented leader with proven experience in category strategy, marketing and product calendar planning, and media management. This position is based full time in our Miami, FL office.

Category & Sales Performance

  • Establish and execute the calendar strategy aligned with growth and profitability targets.
  • Lead portfolio planning, including 1–2-year product roadmaps, new product launches, discounts, and promotions.
  • Plan and execute an annual calendar, including launching product innovations across beverages and food, and deploying market tests.
  • Build strategies to support delivery of sales, traffic, and franchisee profitability growth.

Media Strategy & Execution

  • Oversee all media planning and management for TH US, identifying and allocating media funds across national, regional, and local marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the media budget, leveraging analytical and quantitative tools to allocate investments for optimal ROI.
  • Drive execution of marketing communications in collaboration with internal marketing communications and digital teams, and external media agencies.
  • Own key external vendor and agency relationships to ensure effective, high-quality media and campaign execution.

Franchisee Communications & Engagement

  • Lead and evolve Franchisee Communications to align with sales and marketing strategies, enhancing engagement and execution at the store level.
  • Partner with franchisees to deliver clear, actionable communication around sales plans, promotions, and innovations.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with organizational design principles.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture that builds marketing capabilities across the US team.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, contributing to the long-term growth of Tim Hortons US.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in marketing, category management, or sales performance leadership, ideally within QSR or retail.
  • Proven ability to design and execute national category and calendar strategies with measurable impact.
  • Strong expertise in media planning and budget management, including strong analytical capabilities for ROI maximization.
  • Experience in franchise-driven businesses and strong understanding of effective franchisee engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large teams and cross-functional projects in dynamic, growth-oriented environments.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA preferred.
