Business Travel Sales Manager

The Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for the solicitation of past and new business to ensure all Transient (Corporate & Consortia) revenue, room night and average daily rate goals are achieved or exceeded.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing accounts from all Corporate & Consortia feeder markets in Los Angeles & appropriate systems
  2. Identifying, qualifying, soliciting, negotiating and contracting local and national accounts
  3. Submitting qualifiers and completing bid process during RFP season
  4. Working closely and strategizing with Global Sales Team to guarantee participation in the correct preferred hotel programs
  5. Completing detailed rate loading sheets and testing rates in system to ensure audits are passed and rates are loaded correctly in the system
  6. Planning site inspections, client entertaining and sales trips as required
  7. Creating and implementing quarterly sales action plan
  8. Meeting and exceeding quarterly individual sales goals and annual hotel goals
  9. Soliciting potential clients for future business on an ongoing basis using Agency360
  10. Attending hotel and industry related events/functions, road shows and tradeshows
  11. Entertaining potential and existing clientele daily, weekly, monthly to develop and maintain relationships
  12. Participation in annual marketing plan process
  13. Attending all hotel required meetings and trainings
  14. Maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  15. Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  16. Complying with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  17. Being effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  18. Being able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
  19. Being able to maintain confidentiality of information
  20. Being able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  21. Being able to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
  22. Being able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  23. Approaching all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  24. Performing other duties as requested by management

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • At least 2 years of progressive Business or Leisure Travel hotel sales experience; or a 4 year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2 year college degree and 4 or more years of related experience
  • Experience in luxury hotel direct sales required
  • Opera property management systems experience preferred
  • Must be skilled in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Long hours sometimes required
  • Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
