Business Development Representative

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Consultant to join our West Perth team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role supports the Business Development Manager in identifying and developing opportunities to promote the company's consulting, laboratory, and operational services, while fostering strong relationships with prospective clients and enhancing the company's reputation as a trusted metallurgy partner.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Assist with building and maintaining a robust sales pipeline by identifying and nurturing relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Represent the organisation's expertise across consulting, laboratory, and operations, facilitating client introductions to the technical team for detailed discussions and project agreements.

Relationship Management

  • Conduct ongoing research into industry trends, including emerging commodities, regulatory changes and technological advancements
  • Monitor competitor activities and market conditions to identify risks and opportunities relevant to the company's services
  • Stay informed on ASX announcements, mining news, and client developments to tailor strategies to market needs.

Marketing and Promotions

  • Assist in developing and maintaining marketing materials such as capability statements, brochures and presentations to effectively promote services
  • Assist in collaborating with internal teams to create targeted campaigns and marketing content, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Assist with the development and distribution of promotional items and materials for conferences, events and client engagements

Digital Presence and Communication

  • Assist in collaborating with internal teams to manage IMO's presence on digital platforms, including LinkedIn and YouTube, ensuring regular updates and engaging content.
  • Be part of strategies for digital advertising and social media campaigns that align with the organisation brand and goals.

Conferences and Industry Engagement

  • Attend relevant industry events and conferences to represent the organisation and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Coordinate event logistics, including ticket bookings, travel arrangements, and assist with preparation of promotional materials.
  • Support thorough follow-up with leads generated from conferences, maintaining communication and progressing opportunities

Administrative and Budget Responsibilities

  • Keep track of budgets for marketing, conferences, and client engagement activities.
  • Assist with regular reports on business development activities, including market insights, pipeline updates and campaign performance.

Qualifications

Success in this position requires:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, marketing, hospitality, or a mining-related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client engagement within the mining, engineering, or resources sectors beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders across the mining industry, including producers, explorers, and vendors.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and marketing tools (e.g., Canva), with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
