Job Summary: The Area Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share for multiple hotels within a designated region. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies to achieve financial goals, fostering strong relationships with key clients, and overseeing the management of group bookings, corporate accounts, and event sales. The Area Sales Manager will collaborate closely with hotel teams, including general managers and sales staff, to ensure alignment with overall business objectives. Additionally, this position requires the ability to analyze market trends, identify new business opportunities, and effectively negotiate contracts to maximize revenue potential across all properties in the assigned area. The ideal candidate is a dynamic sales leader with a strong understanding of the hospitality industry and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies for the assigned area, ensuring that all hotels meet or exceed revenue goals. Analyze market trends, competitor performance, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
  2. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, event planners, travel agents, and other business partners. Conduct sales calls, client meetings, and site tours to showcase hotel facilities and offerings. Attend industry networking events and trade shows to generate new leads and maintain existing partnerships.
  3. Revenue Generation: Drive revenue through strategic pricing, upselling, and cross-selling of rooms, meeting spaces, and F&B services. Collaborate with revenue management teams to optimize pricing strategies for the hotels. Monitor and report on sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve financial targets.
  4. Market Analysis & Reporting: Track market trends, competitor pricing, and local demand to identify opportunities and potential risks. Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market insights, and growth opportunities to senior management.
  5. Team Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with property sales teams, general managers, and other hotel departments to ensure sales objectives align with operational goals. Provide leadership and support to hotel sales teams, coaching and mentoring them to achieve sales targets.
  6. Contract Negotiations & Closing: Lead contract negotiations and manage the contracting process for group bookings, corporate accounts, and other key clients. Ensure that all contracts align with the company's policies and objectives.
  7. Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotional activities that drive bookings and increase brand awareness. Develop tailored marketing materials, presentations, and proposals for key clients.
  8. Customer Satisfaction: Work with hotel teams to ensure client expectations are met and that service delivery is consistent with company standards. Address customer inquiries and issues, ensuring that high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of sales experience in the hotel or hospitality industry, with a focus on group and corporate sales.
    • Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    • Experience with sales and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Skills:
    • Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Leadership ability to guide and motivate sales teams.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Availability: Flexibility to travel within the assigned area as required. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary to meet client needs.
