The Sales Representative is accountable for developing and driving sales in South Carolina/Georgia geographic territory. This position is a field position and will be expected to travel at least 30% of the time, in South Carolina/Georgia regions.
Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Prospecting new business and making sales calls to existing accounts for the purpose of selling to customers in the Protective & Marine industrial sales focus market.
Collect reliable customer/territory information and estimate individual customer potential.
Develop a strategy to grow business with customers and identify items or product categories that require specific attention in support of this strategy.
Develop weekly selling plan and conduct sales calls accordingly.
Determine where customer is in the overall selling process and what steps are necessary to move the process along.
Conduct product demos to support the selling process and support customers' application requirements.
Identify sources of sales leads and follow through on leads provided by store/facility personnel as appropriate.
Manage customer complaints within lines of authority and manage process to resolution.
"Face-to-Face" and in person sales calls on a continuous and consistent basis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to effectively communicate and influence specifiers and asset owners.
Knowledge in Protective & Marine products, industrial preparation and application equipment.
Ability to maintain a discipline in pre-call planning daily and monthly activity to ensure time is maximized and the territory plan is being executed.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1, etc.).
Must have a valid, unrestricted drivers license.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must have one (1) year business to business sales experience.
Must have one (1) year of proven success in conducting outside sales calls on industrial and commercial accounts to build new business and increase existing business.
Must have one (1) year of wholesale customer service skills, including problem solving and handling customer complaints within lines of authority and manage process to resolution.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have three (3) years of business to business sales experience in the industrial coatings industry.
Have knowledge and proficiency of multiple corrosion prevention solutions
Have NACE or SSPC Certified or other industry certifications
