Position Statement: Reporting to and directly supporting the Director of Sales, the Assistant Director of Sales - MICE assists leading the hotel's pro-active and group sales teams, managing all sales activities, creating and executing strategic plans to achieve hotel targets, forming new and maintaining existing relationships, and developing talent within the commercial team.
What Will You Be Doing?
As the Assistant Director of Sales, MICE, you will be responsible to lead the function with integrity and credibility for the following areas:
- Leadership: Act as team leader in the absence of the Director of Sales, ensuring alignment with Hilton's global promise and values. Foster a high-performance culture and develop team competencies through coaching and succession planning. Address performance challenges promptly and support recruitment for Sales and Groups teams. Communicate effectively across commercial and hotel departments; attend relevant meetings.
- Hotel Strategy and Management: Contribute to hotel business strategy and collaborate with commercial leadership to achieve revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction targets. Drive initiatives to maximize revenue from rooms, event spaces, restaurants, and ancillary services (e.g., parking, laundry, in-room technology).
- Sales: The core responsibility would be MICE sales and the role also includes supporting corporate sales activities when required ensuring seamless collaboration across segments: Prospect and develop MICE and Group business by targeting key markets and corporate accounts from the assigned portfolio. Develop and maintain detailed account plans in Salesforce; ensure timely updates of sales activities. Conduct client meetings; lead site inspections, familiarization trips, and client entertainment (flexibility for evenings/weekends required). Represent Hilton Singapore Orchard at trade shows, networking events, and sales trips. Collaborate with Hilton Sales network, TMC and MICE partners to strengthen relationships and generate new MICE leads and corporate accounts. Manage corporate RFP processes and maintain accurate trackers; ensure rates are correctly loaded in GDS. Utilize third party tools such as TravelClick Hotelligence (Agency 360) to analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities. Collaborate with Hilton Sales network and TMC partners to strengthen relationships and generate new business.
- Conference & Events, Outlets: Support strategies for inquiry handling, space control, response rates, and conversion improvement. Implement initiatives to increase Conference & Events and outlet revenues.
- Revenue Management – Rooms: Assist in competitor analysis, pricing strategies, and market share evaluation. Support segmentation analysis and action plans aligned with revenue proposals.
- Budget and Fiscal: Assist in preparing annual revenue plans, sales & marketing budgets, and forecasts. Submit monthly activity reports detailing confirmed and provisional business.
- Maintenance of Systems and Procedures: Ensure accurate data management in all sales and revenue systems. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Hilton systems and procedures.
