Director, Enterprise Sales - Northern Europe

Role Overview

The Director, Enterprise Sales - Northern Europe will lead Smartly's commercial success across key markets in the region, including the UK, France, Benelux, and Nordics. This player/coach role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution — managing a team of high-performing Account Executives while also owning a personal book of enterprise global accounts.

This is a unique opportunity for a driven, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in both strategic and client-facing environments. You will work closely with marketing, customer success, partnerships, agency, and product teams to accelerate revenue growth and expand Smartly's presence among enterprise advertisers.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives across Northern Europe, ensuring consistent performance and professional growth.
  • Set clear goals, forecast accurately, and implement best-in-class sales practices.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence within the team.

Commercial Execution

  • Personally own and manage a portfolio of high-value enterprise accounts, including global brands with multi-market operations.
  • Drive the full sales cycle: from strategic prospecting to complex deal structuring and closing.
  • Build and maintain strong C-level and senior stakeholder relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Achieve and exceed regional revenue targets and individual sales quotas.

Strategy & Regional Growth

  • Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for Northern Europe, in alignment with Smartly's EMEA growth objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships across target verticals.
  • Work cross-functionally with Agency, Customer Success, and Product to ensure customer success and long-term retention.
  • Represent Smartly at industry events, conferences, and executive meetings in the region.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of commercial experience in SaaS or digital marketing, with a strong record of success in enterprise sales.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing sales teams within high-growth technology or adtech environments.
  • Proven ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
  • Deep understanding of digital advertising, media buying, and marketing automation.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with a player/coach mindset.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage C-level stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; additional Northern European languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel across the region as required.
