As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. Join our Sales team as a 2026 summer intern, where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting customer relationships, analyzing sales data, and driving initiatives that directly impact revenue growth. This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Business, Marketing, Sales, or Communications who want exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing environment and the opportunity to learn from experienced sales professionals.

  • Assist with maintaining and updating the sales CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot), ensuring accuracy of customer data and sales pipeline information.
  • Support the development of sales presentations, proposals, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct customer and market research, helping to identify new opportunities and benchmark performance against competitors.
  • Partner with sales representatives and managers to track leads, monitor order progress, and follow up on customer inquiries.
  • Assist in coordinating customer meetings, webinars, and other sales-related events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Operations, and Customer Service) on initiatives that support the sales process.

What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, or sales support tasks.
  • Interest in B2B sales, customer service, or industrial/manufacturing environments.

Education & Certifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or a related field.
  • Cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Travel & Working Environment

  • Hybrid schedule
  • The position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Keyboarding/typing.
  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally.

Our intern and co-op positions are paid, and we offer housing stipends for students who are not local to the Kansas City area.
