Vice President Sales - Food Grade Tanker
The Vice President Sales - Food Grade Tanker develops and executes the overall sales strategy to achieve revenue targets, profitability goals, and market expansion objectives. Cultivate customer relationships and partner to develop tailored solutions that leverage Steven's network and capabilities. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, emerging markets, and strategic partnerships, particularly within the Food Grade Tanker arena. Implement data driven KPI and report performance metrics to Executive management. Collaborate with Operations, pricing, marketing, and finance to align capacity planning, margin optimization, and service delivery. Champion new service offerings and collaborate with internal stakeholders to bring innovative transportation solutions and sustainability, technology, dedicated fleets to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales strategy and execution for the Food Grade Tanker division, focusing on long-term growth and sustainability
- Oversee Food Grade Tanker sales revenue, P&L, operating ratio, profit margins of the division, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
- Collaborate with the executive team to drive company-wide initiatives and improvements
- Partner with Equipment Procurement team for planned growth insuring capacity matches capabilities and ensures future growth.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with Operations Leadership to Ensure seamless service delivery and address any customer issues promptly
- Manage asset utilization ensuring profitability while optimizing trailer rotation and allocation
- Engineer design optimal washout compliance by identifying and negotiating contracts
- Partner with Legal and Pricing to ensure all accessorial fees are properly identified in customer contracts
- Negotiate and manage RFP process end to end with customer and operations
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and threats
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders
- Prepare and present strategic reports and forecasts to senior management
- Participate in industry events and trade shows to promote Stevens Transport's Food Grade Tanker services
Team Management
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to the supporting team
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates and address any concerns
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all activities
- Prepare and present regular reports on performance and team metrics
- Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards
- Manage Food Grade Tanker compliance to assure product security
- Manage Kosher certifications and all required FMCSA DOT Food safety related to transporting liquid bulk commodities are adhered to.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven experience (10+ years) in Food Grade Tanker Sales
- Strong Knowledge of specialty tanker equipment and commodities
- Strong knowledge and proven track record of sales principles and practices
- Excellent organizational, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Experience in managing P&L of Food Grade Tanker Services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven experience (10+ years) in the Food Grade Tanker transportation industry
- Familiarity with the transportation industry and tanker services.

Work Experience
- 10+ years of experience in sales, within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Experience in the Food Grade Tanker transportation industry is necessary.
