Business Development Manager

Responsible for business development across South Africa and other African countries, focused on large-scale underground and open-pit mining projects. The role combines key account management, tendering activities, and strategic growth in the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a pipeline of major mining customers and projects.
• Lead customer strategies, financial assessment, and stakeholder management.
• Manage and coordinate tender processes, delivering competitive technical and commercial bids.
• Identify and develop new opportunities in underground and open-pit mining operations.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to drive profitable growth.

Education & Experience

• Engineering degree, preferably in Mining or related disciplines.
• 15+ years of experience, including 5–7 years in sales or business development within the mining industry.
• Proven experience in large-scale mining projects and international environments, ideally in Africa.

Skills & Requirements

• Fluent in English and Afrikaans (mandatory); other languages are a plus.
• Strong understanding of underground and open-pit mining operations.
• Solid commercial, financial, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage complex, project-based sales environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
