Sales Representative

EJ has an immediate opening for a Sales Representative. This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside within the Greater Houston, TX area. Occasional on-site presence is required at our Houston branch located in Katy, TX. Summary:

Promotes, specifies and sells products for manufacturer or distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.

  • Promote the EJ culture, the mission and vision, and embracing the core values of the company, including safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.
  • Promote safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement regarding a safe work environment. Safety is the #1 priority at EJ.
  • Overall general understanding of the Public Works industry which includes the Streets, Drainage, Water and Wastewater departments at municipalities and agencies.
  • Strategically travels throughout the Greater Houston territory to call on current and prospective customers and/or engineers to solicit favorable specifications.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of all EJ products including castings, water products, fabricated products, composite products and infra-risers.
  • Align product demonstrations to sell EJ products as a solution provider.
  • Conduct fire hydrant operation and maintenance demonstrations with municipalities or industry associations to promote EJ products.
  • Comfortable with public speaking in front of groups ranging from 10 to 50.
  • Understand the unique features and benefits of EJ fire hydrants and valves. Educate customers about prominent design differences.
  • Demonstrate, support, and repair products in the field as requested.
  • Attend trade shows, meetings, and conventions as requested to gain leads and promote EJ.
  • Preparation of opportunities and customer quotes in timely manner.
  • Communicate accurate lead times to customers throughout the sales cycle.
  • Record and maintain client contact data in our CRM, Salesforce.
  • Submit expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Identify key opportunities in territory to grow EJ sales.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding product use and proper applications.
  • Review existing product specifications and identify opportunities for optimized designs.
  • Ability to utilize forklift if required.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or two-year associates degree (AA) with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
