Training Program Manager
Deliver an exceptional training experience to Transamerica Retirement Services sales teams through bespoke presentations for large scale projects, product launches, and ongoing sales team development. Assess and determine training needs with sales leadership, managerial feedback, and observation of wholesaler activity and performance. Conduct ongoing evaluation of training effectiveness based on levels of participant reaction, knowledge acquired, behavioral change, and business impact.
Responsibilities
- Define, create, and deliver training programs to meet the learning and development needs of the business units. Develop instructor materials and assessments specific to training requirements.
- Lead the design and development of new hire training and facilitate program delivery to virtual and external RVP's, internal wholesalers, sales desk assistants, account managers, etc. for each product.
- Provide ongoing training in response to new products, systems, and processes to ensure sales teams have the knowledge and tools to succeed. Provide supplementary and review training as needed.
- Design, develop, and facilitate on-going training for continual improvement of sales skills (e.g. relationship selling, decision-making styles, customer centric language, etc.)
- Design, develop, and facilitate leadership development training to management across distribution channels.
- Identify appropriate content to implement using learning management systems (LMS); evaluate existing content for development of e-learning modules and programs.
- Serve as a mentor to trainers to develop skills, knowledge, and proficiency, and conduct informal quality assurance through peer review and attendance of offered training programs; share best practices, successes, and innovations to help advance team performance.
- Evaluate participant and manager evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training, with a focus on long-term behavioral implementation and business impact.
- Provide focused training to select groups as requested.
- Attend meetings with Sales Desk team, AVPs, marketing partners, vendors, etc. to develop sales strategies, materials, and messaging to support products and services.
- Support the development of a learning and development bench of talent through training, coaching and mentoring (primarily candidates identified from the internal sales desk).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a business field or equivalent experience
- Seven years of learning and development experience
- Deep industry and product knowledge in specialty areas based on business need (e.g. retirement, mutual fund, annuity, life, employee benefits)
- Knowledge of adult learning principles
- Advanced documentation and technical writing skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work on a team and independently
- Ability to incorporate creative and innovative solutions in a learning environment
- Project management skills
- Advanced proficiency using MS Office tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Training experience in the financial services industry, particularly qualified retirement plans
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS)
- Instructional design experience
- Computer application software knowledge preferred (e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, CoPilot).
Working Conditions
- Hybrid office environment: 3 days in office (Baltimore, Cedar Rapids, Philadelphia, Denver)
- Occasional Travel <10%
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $100,000-$120,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus of 12.5% based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.
