Banquet & Event Sales Coordinator
Columbia Country Club in Columbia, MO is seeking a passionate and service-driven Banquet & Event Sales Coordinator to join our team. General Purpose: Provides clerical, sales support and group sales services duties for department.
Essential Duties:
- Operates key office machines including but not limited to computer, calculator, fax machine and copier.
- Orders and maintains office supplies and collateral for group sales.
- Composes and/or types of routine correspondence including but not limited to memorandums, letters, Club announcements, group calendars and reports.
- Maintains electronic group and prospective group databases and hard files. Creates and maintains accurate and efficient filing systems.
- Answers group and prospective group questions with accuracy and efficiency.
- Assists in developing contacts with area corporate, local businesses, civic organizations, and charity groups to promote our tournament venues.
- Maintains positive contacts with previous groups and follow-up on all initial contacts of potential new groups.
- Generates monthly calendar of events for department managers in order to advise of future events to: ensure proper staffing levels are met, coordinate inter-departmental support, and ensure proper coordination of special set-up, accommodations, or other arrangements.
- Works with customers to coordinate event details, sell logo merchandise and other golf services.
- Assists in preparing and distributing information to members and guests pertaining to tournaments, large group events, critical dates and course closures.
- Assists with the registration groups on the day of the event.
- Maintains adequate inventory of group sales kits and various group sales information.
- Performs various administrative and sales duties during Club events.
- Maintains complete understanding of group sales information and sales processes.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently sits, talks, hears; uses hands.
- Regularly walks and stands.
- Occasionally reaches with hands and arms, stoops, kneels, crawls and crouches.
- Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
- Noise level is moderate.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
Certificates/Licenses: None Required.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates are required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates use are in English).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
