Job Description

The Business Development Representative provides Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Marketing Department. The primary objective of the Business Development Representative is to establish strong relationships with clinicians, hospitals and other agencies that refer patients in need of behavioral health services. The Business Development Representative participates in the Account Management system, assessing the needs of the customer and making the required number of marketing contacts to each account, in order to develop and maintain a long-term referral relationship which will generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet hospital census objectives. He/she plans events, provides tours, performs referral source in-services, acts as a liaison between the Referral Source and the hospital, and seeks out new business development opportunities for the hospital.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Marketing/Business preferred; Associate’s degree required

Experience: Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting

Licensure/Certification: LPC, LCSW, LMSW, RN or LPN preferred.

Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of the Memphis and Southwest Tennessee behavioral health marketplace, insurance plans, target markets and referral sources, psychiatric and chemical dependency diagnoses & symptomology, age specific programming.
