Process Improvement Specialist

We are now seeking an experienced Process Improvement Specialist to build and run an end-to-end process including input consumption, forecast validation and integration/plan publish to downstream teams. This is a Day 1 opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial and pioneering team building from the ground up. You will understand cross functional dependencies, map out the existing process flow and make recommendations to improve on the team’s future state. You will also analytically manage the data solutions and tools to challenge your input providers and defend the final forecast hedgest to senior stakeholders (up to Director). You will lead collaborations with business, product management and engineering teams to drive improvements.

Key job responsibilities:

Develop (as an individual contributor) a new process to streamline forecast consumption, transformation and explain-ability.

Manage advanced visualization solutions to allow business and tech stakeholders to deep dive and understand the team’s forecasts.

Collaborate with leaders across multiple teams to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.

About the team:

The Network Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) team forecasts all inventory flows across the entire North America Fulfillment network. We manage everything from what Amazon receives from vendors and sellers to what it ships from our Fulfillment Centers (FCs). The network S&OP forecast is the starting point of a weekly planning process spanning first, middle mile, last mile and defining the amount of resources (trucks, labor) that need to be secured to ensure we fulfil our customer orders at the highest speed, best quality, lowest cost and carbon intensity possible. We collaborate closely with Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) teams in North America and internal tech stakeholders across Transportation, Labor Planning, and Finance teams, reconcile bottom-up and top-down inputs to build forecasts which are accurate and explainable as possible. We also partner with Supply Chain Execution (SCE) teams as well as Science partners to define the optimal allocation under constraints of volumes across the 9 Regions of the US fulfillment network.

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of program or project management experience

3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

3+ years of driving process improvements experience

Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
