Our 10-week internship offers a comprehensive and immersive experience for students interested in gaining practical knowledge and skills in the banking industry. Each week, you will be exposed to different leaders and aspects of the line of business. You will have the opportunity to complete projects that will help you understand the day-to-day operations of a bank and develop a well-rounded skillset. Additionally, you will have the chance to receive guidance from experienced professionals in the field, participate in meetings, and network with other interns and associates. By the end of the program, you will have gained valuable insights, built a solid foundation in banking practices, and potentially set the stage for future career opportunities at First Horizon.
This position is full-time (40 hours per week), within normal business hours.
Role Summary: Partner with the National Sales workstream leads and cross-functional team to identify and operationalize the key metrics used to evaluate a regional pilot for the Consumer Bank. Focus areas include: sales and marketing effectiveness, associate training effectiveness and readiness, product testing, and client engagement/service models. Internship key deliverables include: a measurement plan with baselines and thresholds, and proto@type dashboards or reporting templates, weekly/monthly pilot scorecards, data insights summary and final presentation to pilot stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Metric framework development :
Review each National Sales workstream to understand goals, processes, and available data.
Align data gathered with KPIs, leading indicators, and success thresholds for pilot evaluation.
Measurement plan and governance :
Propose data collection methods, sampling plans, and reporting cadence (weekly/monthly).
Identify control groups/baselines and outline how to compare pilot vs. non-pilot performance.
Document assumptions, data sources, and quality checks; flag data gaps and remediation steps.
Reporting and insights :
Build draft dashboards or reporting templates (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for KPI visibility.
Produce concise insight summaries highlighting progress, risks, and recommended actions.
Present findings to pilot stakeholders and contribute to readouts for leadership.
Cross-functional collaboration :
Partner with Consumer Banking, National Sales, Marketing, Learning & Development, Operations, and Data & Analytics associates to align on measurement goals and execution.
Qualifications:
Full-time undergraduate student with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
GPA of 3.0 or above
Strong interest in business and finance, though no specific major or field is required
Resourcefulness, team-oriented, enthusiastic
Entrepreneurial spirit
Demonstrated leadership and self-development (work or campus)
Ability to interface and network with people at all levels of an organization
Strong communication and collaboration skills
