The Sales Lead’s key responsibility is driving profitable sales through effective promotion of products and display opportunities. This role also plays a pivotal part in overseeing and guiding a team of Account Representatives. It combines leadership, sales expertise, and operational management to ensure the merchandising team effectively promotes products, engages with customers, and drives sales. In addition, the Sales Lead is responsible for building strong client relationships, identifying new growth opportunities, and ensuring that sales strategies are executed with excellence. This position requires a proactive, results-driven professional who can inspire a team, foster collaboration, and deliver outstanding customer experiences while meeting and exceeding sales targets.

A day in the life of a Sales Lead looks like:

  • Drive Sales and Promote Products. Sell and promote all product initiatives and secure display opportunities within assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with CDAs and driving profitable sales.
  • Activate National and Regional Programs. Implement and monitor the execution of national and regional account activities and programs, ensuring alignment with pricing, POS, and brand standards.
  • Lead and Develop the Team. Provide leadership, coaching, and training to Account Representatives to enhance their sales and customer service skills while fostering a collaborative and growth-focused team environment.
  • Ensure Best-in-Class Merchandising Execution. Maintain assigned accounts to standard, ensuring proper product distribution, display activity, and the use of branded Point of Sale materials.
  • Conduct Audits and Monitor Compliance. Perform weekly retail audits and retail trackers to monitor compliance with agreements, identify improvement areas, and ensure high-quality execution in all accounts.

Other experience and qualifications: What does it take to be a Sales Lead? Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or other Business related field. Minimum 3 years related experience. Preferred proven sales and service ability within the soft drink industry. Demonstrate intermediate/advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
